I'm thinking these are like purple flatworms. There are a few around but they mostly hold up in hairy mushrooms and you can barely see them because of their color. However I have spotted some on corals like this Lobo and Duncan. They have been around for some time, (month or 2 maybe more) but I really haven't noticed any damaging effects from them. The questions I have are: What is it, and should I treat/remove them? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
If you do have flatworms get a blue velvet nudibranch... I had them BAD in my nano and a friend of mine gave me his... Its AMAZING how it ate them!! He is almost done and Ill be giving him to a friend who also has a flatworm issue... So much better then putting chemicals in the tank
Thanks a ton for the advice.. i hate chemicals as well. Seems like most of the livestock I have in my tank is used to combat some sort of problem. ie yellowhead goby which really destroyed my cyano problem singlehandedly.

the yellowhead goby took care of cyano huh?? Was it like the red slime or the stringy brownish stuff?? I have the brownish stuff gooin in my tank rite now...everytime I think its going away it comes back double!

mine was the red slime. But I'd say that anything that grows alot on the sandbed the yellowhead would work over pretty good. It's not that the goby liked eating the red slime, It's just that he turned the sand over alot and it just covered it and it went away in about 5-7 days. I used a turkey baster to kind of blast stuff off the rocks until one day I looked at it and it just wasn't there anymore. It's probably worth a shot. They aren't to expensive, but once you've got him, and the algae problem goes away, you have a problem with sand dusting. I would rather have this problem than the algae though.. now I have a flatworm problem lol, Luckily I've found that just blasting them off of stuff everyday makes for a nice treat for my 4 strip damsel and the trio of green chromis.
