Default Weed, Coral or something else???

#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#This stuff is very prevalent around Guam and I place some in my new tank along with the rock I've collected. Thought it was just some random seaweed or other plant but I see that there is a faint "fuzzy fringe" around each leave, almost like the fuzz seen when coral polyops come out. Thought it odd behavior for just a plant but don't think its a soft coral... Anyone know what this is?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#DIV#ed_cl##ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#

Ok, I give. How do I attach the photo? I've uploaded via the add image button and get the pop-up window with the image, but how do I stick it into the actual message?? (This is the general questions forum after all....so how do I post to the forum????) (bet you are going to tell me to find the newbie FAQ somewhere....)

Ah I see the problem, forgot to update the FAQ for the new text
editor... my apologies. If you use the 'Rick Text' editor after
you upload your picture and it shows in that little window you to drag
and drop it into the text window, it says that under the picture in
that little popup window. Otherwise under the text box you can
switch the board back to the 'normal editior' mode and then you can
switch back and forth as you see fit.#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

I believe you were right about the it being algae. I think it is called Maiden's cup, but I could be wrong. I would guess that the hairy stuff is either a second algae(maybe hair algae) or some form of shedding from the Maiden's cup. Time will tell.

It sure is the prettiest algae I've ever seen! I hope it's a safe algae. If so, I want some as long as it didn't take over my tank or release some strange toxins! Cool!
