    Additional Information & Description

This isn't the first squat lobster I've had. I had a red one for about three years. It was a model citizen of the tank and had a ton of character (for a lobster). Sadly, he vanished right before Christmas

So I have been on the look out for another the past couple months. @Preuss Pets was able to get a couple in for me today via @AM Aquatics. Thanks Mark ( @Zullner ) for keeping a look out for me! Although I would still like to get another red one. This purple and orange is super cool! I also got a slightly less cool tan colored one.

Both of the new squats are very small compared to my old red one, so hopefully they grow up a little bit. The red had a body about the size of a quarter, I would say these guys are about half the size of a dime (not counting legs and claws).

From my internet research, there are 870 known species of Squat Lobsters in the world. Squat Lobsters are decapods crustaceans. They are not lobsters at all but are more closely related to hermit crabs and porcelain crabs.
