I'm the type of person who likes to know as much as I can about the corals I'm keeping. Wanting to know about my new Fungia, I did a search on google. After 5 links I finally found what I was looking for.
Did you know that fungia coral when small have a *foot* that keeps them placed until they're big enough to control their own movements, at which time the foot breaks off. Then when older they move about freely (if not attached to a plug) and if they fall over can actually right themselves.
Interesting stuff, in deed. I love my orange Fungia coral. Just got a new one from Aquarium Shine the other day. New one is green with a blue/purple mouth. Great to watch them eat!
Yeah I just got a new (and first) one Friday. About the size of a 50 cent piece, green with a yellow mouth.
It also said that they'll even climb the rock face til they find the spot they like
