Question Coral growing in less than ideal places...

The other day I joked with someone that my Green Star Polyp was growing on the aquarium glass. The coral was near the front of the tank, and frankly I thought there was coraline algae growing on the glass where it had not been cleaned (due to the placement of the GSP). Well, today I made a closer inspection. The GSP is growing on the glass. While I am happy that conditions are good, it is not a practical place for it to take up residence.

Has anyone had any experience with removing this stuff? Is the only hope to use a razor blade and scrape it off? Will that lead to finding it everywhere in a few months assuming that some pieces of it will escape the clean up routine.

AND... I found the tiny piece of War Coral that I stuck on a clear, magnetic frag rack has covered the plug and is now growing on the frag rack. Do i just move the plug and frag whatever breaks free? I have only had this piece since the spring/early summer - I really didn't expect this much growth (frankly for this or the GSP).

just take your mag float to the gsp. If you're worried about it floating off and re-growing you can easily cut the mat then scrape it off with a razor.
