    Default Mounting an alvepora

Does the skeleton of an alvepora grow at the base similar to an acan or is it more "trunk" based like a duncan?

Trying to decide if I should mount it to a rock and place on the sandbed or just leave it on the frag plug (1.5" plug) and bury that in the sand.

    Thanks for any input!

At the base, similar to acan but closer to an entrusting montipora, put on a rock if you want a more dramatic (peaks and Valleys) shape

    Thanks for the response!

I expected the base to grow, but not the encrusting part. Gave me a new option for placement.
