Awesome! That's great that you're helping out the hobby by captive raising them.

Captive raising on Captive Reefs! Booyah!

    Congrats again.

    Just a quick baby update:
Original batch is doing well - the 4 that are left.
And to my surprise, there is a new batch swimming in the spines of the urchin. I guess I'm not totally surprised; I knew the male was holding again, but had no idea for how long. I'd venture a guess and say some were eaten by predators, but I saw about 10 swimming around today, so we'll see how they make it. They totally went for the Rod's food, so I know they are more than a day old. LOL

    Congrats Becky!

Strangely enough, I never paid much attention to Banggais before, but those babies are too cute to resist.

    Hey All...

I appreciate y'all following my thread. Unfortunately, I've been traveling an insane amount recently and have had a hard time keeping up with everything that deserves my attention.

The batches are doing really well. I think the survivors are going to make excellent aquarium fish. If they have survived all the predators in my tank, then they are born to live.

From batch 1 -- 2 are surviving -- They are a really nice size. Probably ready for a new home sometime soon. Funny, since the 2nd batch came along, they have started hanging out in the urchin again with the smaller ones from batch 2. I did have someone ask me about a pair already, so I think those are gone (although I recommended one from me and one from someone else so as to mix up the DNA.)

Batch 2 -- 4 to 6 are surviving -- they swim all over the place, and with 300g, I'm never sure if I just counted the same fish twice in a different spot of the tank. LOL

Batch 3-- on the way any day now. I'm sure to have babies when I get home next Friday night from Kansas City. The male has been holding for several days now, so I expect them any day now.

Back to laundry and repacking for my next trip (leaving on Sunday).
I really should get some new pics and get them posted.

I am pretty sure I ended up with 3 males from trying to get a pair, lol. The 2 bigger ones picked on each other and the 3rd hid. I moved the biggest, now the 2nd biggest one picks on the littler one. I could trade one away at the swap probably if anyone was interested. Tank raised and off live brine.
