    Default Flame angel yes or no

    Hey all got a quick question for ya. Flame angel and reefs?? Yes or No I have way to much invested in corals to take a chance with out some research. I would love to have one in my Reef if I can trust it#ed_op#br#ed_cl##ed_op#br#ed_cl#Thanks alot all#ed_op#br#ed_cl#

    Flame Angels have a tendancy to nip on corals (soft and hard) and clams. Not what we'd call reef safe. Almost all butterflies and angels fit into this category. A few you can get away with.... like coral beauties... generally have a 50/50 shot of them not nipping on corals if well fed.

    Copperband is the only butterfly I know of that is generally considered to be reef safe when well fed, and they are known to eat aptasia.

    but out of all of the angels your flame and coral beuty are the best ones for a reef, they are the least likely to nip at corals and clams. I have a coral beauty in one of my tanks and she is an awesome fish. your dwarf angels are the ones you want too look at. and like dakar said they are hit and miss

    I have a lemon angel or a millit angel fosters and smith claim it should be cautioned in a reef but i have't caught him nipping anything

    Cost no big deal I own a pet store hehe et them cheap. I have 3 tangs now a Hippo Tang, Pruple tang, and a Naso vlamin something tang hehe very colroful as adult and nice as baby.
