My goby has been in the tank for more than ten years and is on his second shrimp. I'm not sure why the first shrimp croaked but the goby bonded with the new one right away. Apparently gobies aren't sentimental...
As for other shrimp... I've tried cleaner shrimp and they last a few months (up to a year) then disappear. I don't think the pistol had anything to do with it. The only scenario I would see problems with a pistol and any other shrimp is if the other shrimp tried to take up residence in the pistol's cave(s). Cleaners are probably the least likely to do that with scarlet/bloods most likely and peppermints somewhere in between. JMO.
iyachtuxivm - Sorry if I misunderstood your earlier post. Sounds like we experience similar issues with tunnel building.
Thoughts on also adding a jaw fish ...or would that be too much digging/in a small territory?
They won't do well in the upstairs tank...hard to swim without water. :sos:
I suppose if they fall victim to carpet surfing I could make a mobile out of their remains and hang it in the tank though. :death:
I've got a pink spot that I got from Preuss, one of my favorite fish.
What fun is that? :joker:
Fun, who said anything about fun!?
I've got a peppermint in with my pistol and all is well-so far ;)
