Emporer angel introduced into 40g QT on nov 23rd.
He came in with a white tuft on his 1 cheek spine that cleared up in 7 days
The other sore he came with is still there 14 days later and not healing on its own.
He eats well, 1/2 sheet Nori a day 1 cube spirilina brine shrimp or marine cuisine over 3 feedings. (he acts like nothing is wrong)
Bold enough to eat out of my hand on 3rd day in tank.
His behavior is normal.
The sore reminds me of a kanker sore, it is less than a 1/4 inch long and 1/4-1/8 inch wide. It is white/light pink, and raised around the edges. It is right at the joint at the front of his pelvic fin and he does not stretch that fin out so he is obviously bothered by it. From my research I think I am dealing with a bacterial infection here. As in a scrape that is infected adn wont seal on its own. Thoughts Ideas comments? dealt with this before? much appreciated.. ps isnt he a gorgeous fish? -steve

i wasnt gettin gtoo much traffic here so i also posted this on MI reefers..
Took the pics to kees aquarium. heres what we came up with ...bacterial infection
dosing with melafix, and also there may be a fluke issue because his pectoral fins have a few blemishes on them and are just starting to tatter. so i addressed this with metrinidizole with focus and garlic gaurd.. day 1 wish me luck and ill keep updates.. also did a 15 % water change before i started dosing
day 2 of dosing. doing my best to keep him nice and fat so his immune system is at its strongest. he seems to be doing better.. maybe im just telling myself this to justify spending 40$ in medicine.. idk.. he isnt shying away still hangs out right out in front of everything where i feed him..
added 4 more tsp of melafix and continue to feed medicated food wish me luck on tomarrow
after 4 days of dosing melafix i used up the whole small bottle. his wound is almost completely healed. but because i had to take out my carbon and protien skimmer the water quality dipped and he seems to have a little ich going on. today I did a 25% water change and gave him a 4 minute fw dip.. wow did this fish grunt and click lol.. he was making some very interesting noises letting me know he wasnt happy to be handeled. but hes looking a lot beter.. many of the cysts fell off and he dosent seem to be shaking his head or yawning as much. will dip again tm and continue feeding garlic with his foods
thanks sir patrick! yea i got home today and took a good look at him and he is looking like a million bucks. ill definitly have to take some pics so everyone can see a before and after shot
Thanks for sharing the info you have found here. I have very little knowledge on this subject, and now- I know where to look when/if I ever come across an issue like this.
