    Default Jawfish is a thief!

Put 5 new frags in my tank the other day and my dusky jaw used them all to fill holes in his den. Had to move at least a dozen corals and 35lbs of rock to get to the rock he hides behind. After opening his lair i found 11 frag plug!! The 5 new plus, 1 I thought he took but wasnt digging for at the time. and 1 I didnt even realize was gone. Gave the fish 7 empty plugs outside hi den and within an hour he had stole them so i gave him 5 more. Would like to know what other peoples jawfish have stolen.

I used to have a pearly jaw that would do the same thing. Pain in the butt and at the same time they are so entertaining to watch!!

I'm not a fan of those dusky jawfish. Bob had one that was big enough it could move nearly anything it wanted. Its cave was lined with expensive frag plugs. LOL At least a pearly seems to be a smaller fish.

Yes, I had a really nice one about 6" long. He stayed in one hole, but decorated his hole daily using the frags as potted plants on his patio deck. He would come up and eat food out of my hand. Sadly, he passed away after 5 years.

No, I got some blue spotted gobys that live in his hole with a pistol shrimp now.

I have a nano at work and have 4 pearly jaws in it with no problem. They are fun to watch and one of them seems to cohabit with the other three on various occasions.
