My fears have been put to rest, finally! I am beginning to relax I am no longer worried about Dilly getting enough to eat. He's eating pods too!!! For the first time I saw him pecking at the rock What at first looked to me as if he was loosing weight was in fact he's grown! Yup, Dilly has gotten longer which made him appear slimmer.
While feeding him just now, he sucked up 3 blood worms at once~LOL.
Just yesterday I reseeded both the tank and fuge with more pods, Tisbe to be exact. 1000 in all or there about. So for 28.95 a month I can keep them in abundance. Small price for me to pay I've order the blood worms/brine shrimp in bulk too. I'm also going to try him on Rods Fish Only, in hopes of removing the brine shrimp.
I've pretty much gotten the hang of feeding the frozen so that I can eliminate any waste and without upsetting the balance of my parameters. So far so good. No signs of algae or cyno of any kind Amazing considering I'm not running a skimmer. 25% bi-weekly WC must be sufficient.
7 weeks and Dilly is fat en happy!! WOOT WOOT! Got up this a.m. to see his belly looking a lil full? Could he be eating pods during the night? He sure ate good when I fed him
People you gotta know how I am at this very moment.
Woot Woot 9 weeks for Dilly! Happy and healthy Got up this a.m. looking for the nice lil cluster of tigger pods I *had* going on..seems as if Dilly had himself a nice little pod munching party as the tiggers are no where to be found Plus his lil belly is looking sort of full.
Expecting a new order of pods today. Will most likely be putting the entire contents into the DT as my fuge is kind of messed up these days. Gotta figure something out with that.
Anyways..I've dropped Dilly's target feedings down to 2x daily. Wanting him to eat more pods versus the prepared. As long as his belly isn't skinny in the a.m. I'll continue.
Want him to have the best of both worlds I guess I would also feel much better knowing he's eating both. Especially if I were to miss a feeding for whatever reason.
Sitting here watching my tank and for the first time since he's been in my tank, Dilly is perching!!! He's always moving, never stops except for at night. What a treat to see him just hanging out, and of all the places he's chosen to hang, is on top of the big ole pile of chaeto I've got growing His little eyes are moving around, looking looking looking...wonder what he sees......This fish has definitely taken the #1 spot in my heart for fish
I'm thinking too if he stops moving so much he may put on some weight..like me
I added a male to my tank on Friday. I have a large female and have been looking for a large male. I found a medium sized one at reef solutions.
Say them on Saturday. The female was chasing the male all over. Today they are both out hunting and not showing any aggression at all. I have a pair!!! Now as soon as you get your eating you need to get a male/female. They are cool fish for sure.
