Sorry for your loss Jamie. Based on the condition of the fish you received, it's likely nothing you could have done would have altered the outcome.

Have had great experiences with mandarins. Never had a problem with them finding their own food. Live rubble helps.

I shall be trying again! Under the stipulation that I receive a picture of said fish before it is shipped. Come to find out SWF.com picks the fish up from ORA on the day it is to be shipped out. So with that said I've spoken to ORA and have shared my concerns about a fish in that condition being sold.

Even that said, don't be surprised if it comes in looking thinner then in the pic you get of the next one. Yeah the last one was a little thin but I have seen them come in thinner because of their high metabolism and constant eating habits. + if its one of ORA's captive breed that supposedly eats prepared foods....goodluck. It will be skinny when u get it because they don't pack those systems with pods because they want them to eat prepared foods, but they don't sit there and feed them 24/7 like mandarins in the wild would eat. Sure they might be harder to get to eat, but IMO mandarins are one fish that your unfortunately better off getting wild over CB, atleast for now.
