ooohh, I want some. They are Beautiful. How many do you have?

I wish I "could" have more erectus, but I can't mix any with the ones I have. I do have a 65G tank just waiting for seahorse. BUT it's waiting for Kuda.

I also have a few empty tanks, but I'm resisting the urge to fill them with water. Sadly none of the empty ones are suitable for seahorses. (40g breeder is too short and the 10's and nanos are too small. The 20G High "may" be ok for juvi kudas, but why bother when I have the 65g ready and waiting?)

Thanks guys! They always had this orange undercoating, if ya will. But it wasn't until the move they turned this brillant color. They also finally picked a sex as of only 3 weeks ago. I thought they were all females at this point because they are late bloomers. But again... after the move..... 2 turned male.

I should clarfiy what I mean by "turning" in case someone who doesn't know horses gets the wrong idea. They didn't change sex. 2 were always male and one female. But when they are young they all look like female until a pouch grows.

For those "new" to the seahorse sexing thing...

The male has a much more tapered look to his abdomen due to the development of a brooding pouch. The female has a more pronounced belly looking abdomen, shaped like a P.

*whispering* don't tell anyone.. it's from my article. I passed it along to some folks for review, and it should be out soonest. Steven Pro suggested some stuff, as did other hobbyists. I'm just annotating references etc. and then it should be good to go.
