    use egg crate works well used it on my 46 gallon bow front

    The only issue with eggcrate is it blocks a lot of light, especially if you use a halide or led.

    As far as cost for a premade mesh top, let me do mine and see how much of a pain it will be first.

    Ok, ill wait for you to do yours. I'm running a halide on teh tank....how does it block light that bad?

    Try it and find out ...it's a good experiment. Maybe on a small tank it wouldn't be as bad.
