Default The Occy's have landed...in the anemone

After a couple of weeks, the band of 10 occy babies (from the same brood) are finally using three of the 8 large anemones in my tank. My hope is that if they pair off, the others will go to some of the other anemones located between a foot and two feet away. I'll take pics tomorrow when the lights are back on. Thought it wasn't going to happen.

You really know how to get me to put down my beer and take a pic, Don, lol! Here's a couple with a flash, but you gotta look real close. They're really in there.

Me too, Chuck. I had my doubts that captive bred would ever host with anything, but the breeder had a plastic red (long spiked) ball in his breeding tank that the babies would all shoot into when they were scared. The guy's a genius!

is there anything special you feel the RBTA to have its tentacles so full? I get a split from Alex that originally came from you which is doing awseome and hosting but it looks so stringy compared. Plus I have a GBTA that looks the same. any suggestions??

    Hey Bart,
I wish I knew. In the other tank they were long and stringy. In this tank, they're bubbled up and thick. Here's my specs, maybe that will give us a clue.

    new LED lights from AJM 120w 50%blue 50% white. 90 degree optics/blues on 12hrs whites on 7hrs
    sg 1023-24
    Temp 79
Tunzes all turned down to 30% ( alot less than I had in my other tank)
    Instant Ocean Salt
Feed at least once a week a lump of shrimp
Very bubbled up in the morning, less by the end of the day

I used to have T5 lights.

That's great that it's hosting! What type of clowns?

Well I see a couple things different
    1. I am using T5 lighting 6 bulb guessing in the 16-18k range running 100%8hrs and 50%9hrs
    2. SG 1025-1026
    3.Running Korilia 1050 on a smartwave crossfiring ever 30sec
    4. temp 77-78
    5. using same salt

    hosting Percs

the biggest thing is I do not feed I let them get what they can during tank feeding. So does it make sense to say they are more full looking because of that? as if their belly is full? is this in your 135gal tank?
