    Default Radiant Wrasse Help

I recently picked up a Radiant Wrasse and I'm starting to second guess my decision. when the fish hit my tank it swam around for a few minutes then dove under the sand. I understand this is normal if their scared and that is fine b/c I think its kinda cool. Last week my daughter seen a pair of yellow lips sticking up through the sand so I immediately thought my $70 fish was dead. I nudged it with the net and it busted out of the sand and swam around like nothing was wrong. I assumed this must be how they breath. 5 minutes later the 6 line wrasse chased him around and the Radiant immediately went under the sand again. Now I haven't seen it for almost a week. It has been in the tank for about a week and a half. I know they do this sometimes, but its going to starve if it never comes out

Any info on this fish or has anyone had one? I did some reading but I would like some first hand experiences please.

    Thanks

I wonder myself how long a wrasse can live in the sand.....

Dont they find food in the sand, or do they just bury themselves??

I guess we will find out b/c I doubt I could find it now if I tried It seems retarded that opposed to come out and face the world you would just choose to starve to death, but who knows. I assume they can get some food from the sand, but how much can a fish really travel totaly under sand? My sand bed is only a couple inches deep except where the clown fish piles it deeper Its starting to worry me b/c the fish wasn't cheep, and I don't want him to die.

mine does the same thing. this is normal. next time introduce your fish with your tank lights off so hey do not get scared into hiding right away. i've seen mine disappear for over a week before. usually most will mucus sac themselves but if not then they just bury themselves.

How about that. I would just feel better if he would at least come out to eat Then if he wants to barry himself fine he has been under the sand basically the whole time Ive had him. Almost two weeks now.

That 6 line may be a problem for the radiant, they tend to hound any other type of wrasse.
