    Default These Pipes Are Smokin'!

I was in Orlando last weekend speaking about captive breeding to the ORCA monthly meeting. On Sunday I went out collecting with Matt Wittenrich. We were looking for dwarf seahorses but found these instead:

P3280189 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!
P3280197 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!
P3280208 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!
P3280232 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!

Yeah, there is a tiny filefish in there too!

P3280241 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!

I ended up with 10 pipefish, 2, or 3, different species. Several of them were gravid and last night some hatched after I moved them into QT.

P3290261 - These Pipes Are Smokin'!

I moved 15 from the QT but there are still more in with the adults.

More pix can be seen here: Sebastian Inlet Collecting

The adults are eating, can't really tell if the juveniles are yet. I'll know for sure in a day, or two. Hoping for the best.

These were born on Monday after I put the adults into QT. Several of them had eggs so I don't know for sure which one they came from.

I got these in seagrass beds, not snorkeling. The water was only knee deep at most.

We went out in Witt's little boat and cruised around from spot to spot. He does it all the time so he had an idea of where to go. We caught all kinds of other stuff that we didn't keep... gobies, shrimp, various finfish, crabs. All kinds of neat critters.
