    Default yellow head jawfish.......newest resident

I have been wanting a jawfish since before I set up the tank but all I could ever find was blue dot jaws and they are $$$.......well yesterday I was at the LFS looking into pistol shrimp (was/still am looking into a pistol shrimp/shrimp goby pair up) and as I was just about to pick out a pistol shrimp, I went "by any chance, is there another fish that will brow LIKE a jaw fish because I have always wanted one but the blue dots just cost too much?" and sure enough, they just happened to have got a yellow head in last week (when he first looked in, we thought it had already been bought but turned out to be under a rock)........in less than a min money was changing hands........got him (actually have noidea if it's a maleorfemale......can they be sexed?)home, put him in the tank and where does he go......right into the back corner inside a rock (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!).......so after quite a bit a "persuasion" (ie: chasing him all over the tank), I got him to findthe "cave" in the front where my feather duster is (actually just a spot where two large masses of live rocks come together on the sand).........wasn't sure if he would stay there but all I could do is hope and sleep on it......morning came.........sure enough he worked all night excavating a DEEP tunnel in under the rock and seems happy (still really scared of any movement......which is understandable).........to make things even more interesting, because he shares the "cave" with the feather duster (which was already there), he uses the feather duster as a "warning device".......if the feather duster pulls in, he ducks in.....all he needs now is a little sign over the cave to say "Bunker Lives Here"........
