| | | 02-11-2010, 09:04 PM I used a recipe found on RC. Before my computer crashed I had it in my favorites now its gone havent really looked it up again. I used the recipe to make some rocks then I figured out what worked and went from there. The recipe is basically 3/1 ratio of something to concrete mix. The something I used was crushed oyster shell and aragonite sand. You need to use portland cement 1, 3 or 5 I believe. I used 1 since its available at lowes or HD, its gray 3 & 5 are more white which seemed to be the prefered color during most of my research. I figured it didnt matter with the coralline going to grow on it. Obviously the more crushed oyster shell you use the more rough and porous its going to be. I used egg crate to make a "skeleton" to apply the agracrete to. If you have a large piece of glass you could just spread it on and then cut or break it to get it in the tank. Check out the RC thread and if you have any questions let me know I'll try to answer them. |
