    Default Jmowbray New 20 long frag tank

    Gathering up equipment for my 20 Gallon frag tank so I thought I would start the journal.

    Frag Tank: 20 Gallon long (30"x12"x12")
    • No sand bed, 2lbs live rock
    • DIY step style frag rack from PVC and Egg crate
    Pump: HOB Fluval C2
    Skimmer: AquaC Remora powered by a Rio 1000
    Lighting: AJM Multicolor LED fixture
    Water Movement: 2x Maxi Jet 600 PRO with Hydor FLO Rotating Deflector
    Dosing:
    • Ca, alk. Mg.
    • Red Sea A, B, C & D Coral Color
    Heater:Finnex HMO-100
    Controller: Digital Aquatics RKL
    • 2 PC4's
    Topoff:
    • JBJ ATO
    • Toms aqualifter
    • 5 gallon water jug

    Invertebrates:
    • 1 Fuzzy Chiton
    • 2 Limpets
    • 3 Nerites
    • 5 Dwarf Ceriths
    • 4 Nassarius Vibex
    • 4 Florida Ceriths

    Well did a full line of test today and this is what I got:

    Temp.: 79.5
    pH: 8.3

    Alk.: 9.9
    Ca: 455
    Mg: 1400

    NH3:<0.25
    NO2: >10
    PO4: 0.08
    I: 0.09
    Fe: 0.0

    Anyone know what's up with the NO2?

    looking good. my guess on no2 is a mis read. otherwise that a **** of a cycle. are you sure that isnt no3?

    Well I'm testing again and getting 4.00. I'm going to go again diluting the water as directed for the high end. And yes it's no3

    Yep did the high end and got 0 so I guess it's 4

    Yes I will eventually have a 90 just wanted to start the frag tank first and propagate some coral so when the big tank goes up I have everything I need.

    Ps I'm looking for locals in the bay city, Saginaw, midland & even Mt. Pleasant area with good start corals. I will post a list later tonight with what I'm looking for.
