    Default msumatt's Frag Tank

This is my second tank and is a 20 gallon long with a 10 gallon refugium. I started it about 2 months ago after having my first tank up and running since January. I need to get the other tank up on here to. I started this hobby in January and have become quite addicted to it. My background is in genetics so some of the breeding aspects of the hobby are especially intriguing. This is the tank I'm currently using for the 2011 growout contest. I've had so much success with other frags in this tank that I thought it would be great to use for this contest. I will include more information later, but for now it is lit by a 400 W metal halide that is about 18 inches above the aquarium. 3 powerheads keep water moving: 1 from the refugium up into the tank that is always on and the other two switch off and on at 20 second intervals to simulate waves. I have everything from zoanthids and candy cane LPS to some birdsnest, and 3 different kinds of xenia. I'll put more pictures up here with closer views of the frags, which some might be up for sale, just ask! Thanks for reading I'll put more info up soon, some boring, and some pretty cool, but hopefully all of it will be useful. See you around.

Thanks for the responses everyone. And you're welcome to come by Chazde if you want to look at what I have. As for showing more pics, I haven't quite figured out how to take good pictures because I don't have one of those floating things that makes everything easier to see. However, I did include a pic today of one of my favorite aspects of this tank setup. When I set up this tank I learned from my previous one in how to set up the refugium. In this tank I have a water faucet type setup attached to my return pump from the refugium so that when I want to do a water change, I just open the valve, and pump the water into a bucket. It makes my water changes so much faster. It also doubles as a way to drip acclimate new corals by only barely opening the valve. If anyone else wants to know what I did feel free to ask.
