Well... I wasn't going to start a tank thread untill the new tank was actually set up and running. But that project is now creeping into it's third year of waiting... So here's my current chunk of the reef.
24 gallon tank 36"x12"x12"
Aquaticlife 36" 4 lamp T5 HO running 2-stock actinic lamps, 1-fiji purple, and 1- aquablue special+ ( Ithink)
2x exocotic stunner strips royal blue
1-aquaclear 70 HOB filter w/sponge(gets cleaned weekly), carbon, and some rubble.
2-3" deep sand bed
1- K1 power head
and a heater
Stock
a few hermits
a trio of snails( plus a growing population of baby snails)
1- yellow wacthman goby "Grumpy"
And then theres the coral.
Montis, an acro, toadstool, zoas, lobo, chalice, honeycomb coral, favia's, acan echinata, and I know I'm forgetting some stuff.
Pretty basic setup, been running over three years now. Mostly softies, but steadily creeping over to the lps/sps side of reefkeeping. Will get some pics up soon.
the stunner strips are amazing, cant wait to save up for 2-4 more...
Pics will come, its hard getting things posted when working the graveyard shift. But I have tommorow off so maybe some pics after I get home from work tonight/mon morning , and get the driveway cleared.
Yea the babies are about a year old now, there all from my one Cerith Snail (Cerithium sp.), and are slowly growing bit by bit. The other three snails I have in there are Nassarius Snails.
this is a really old pic, over a year old now I think. The tank has gone through many many changes since then. I'll try to get an updated FTS fri morning hopefully.
That acan enchinata....that the one ya got from me???? I was told it was likely an orange crush! Looks like yours could be an orange crush, or at least very similar.
