Those pictures are with only the LED's, the halide wasn't on. With the halide on, I got just a tad bit more blue, which is exactly what I wanted.

When the halide is off, POP!

I am a bit blown away by how bright those 4 emitters are, I am going to have to get a PAR meter from the club, as I am sure these are pumping out some serious light.

12w!! Wow!! Why so much wattage?

In order for me to see the difference in color with the halide, I would need to have a lot of 3W, or just these 4 12W LED's. In lumens produced these Luxeons or the equivlent of 18 Cree 3W LEDs.

The cost was pretty cheap too:
$2.95 for the CLG power supply. ($10 promo from PayPal.)
$60 for the LED's and reflectors.
$23 for the LDD's and the printed circuit board.
$20 for the heatsink

Plus having it fit perfectly on my halide! WOOT!

This is the last area that needs clean up. I know there are bare wires here, I am trying to decide what to use for a PWM dimmer, potentially it could be something really simple like the AC-RC dial that I mentioned earlier, or it could be a full blown LED controller like the Storm by Coralux. I am also considering the 0-10v adapter for my reef keeper, with an adapter made by O2Surplus over on RC, but that is actually the most expensive option, and it gives me only 2 channels of control, where the Storm gives 6. With the power supply I have, I can add several more LED's to the mix very easy, maybe some near UV LED's would be a good option, I have room for 4 more. :D

UV would be my choice for sure!! Get a little more pop and it's for coloring up the sticks. Win win. Nicely done by the way. Looks very clean! Any chance of a picture with everything on ?

Thanks Chuck! I am thinking that adding UV can only be a good thing, but that will be a project for another day. ;)
