Default Rick's 30 Gallon Hex

Hi everyone. Im new here but thought i would show you my system.
Here are the tank specs
30 gallon hex
AquaClear 70 HOB
Aqua Remora HOB skimmer
MJ 400
soon to be MJ 600 modded
Finnex 200 watt heater

Fish
1 Naked clown
1 clown (havent setermine the species yet)
2 mandrins
4 clown golbies
1 scat

Corals
purple death
bam bam zoas
blow pop zoas
dendro
green plays
green zoas
green ric
2 light blue rics
blood red mushroom
various othe mushrooms
6 mini carpet nems
2 bubble tip nems

ok now for the pics. i hope you enjoy. this tank has been up since April 2009

I can't wait to see it grown in either, sounds very cool. Looks like you got some cool aquascape going there as well. Keep us posted!

thanks Rob..im going to post pics every month so i can come back to this thread and see the grow in.my bab bam's have already grown 2 new polyps since i changed t5 bulbs..oh yeah i forgot..the lighting is a 4 bulb t5 fixture with these bulbs from front to back

I have no idea..lol i will hav to ask the misses..she had it when we moved in together..i took over taking care of this tank in april and it was in there. It doesnt hurt corals so i left him in there.funny thing through.he doesnt get any bigger but he doesnt shrink either.

Looks like an oragne linikia star, they are super cool but not the most hardy.
However those other stars I see, you should try and get those out of there. Its a 50/50 risk with those bugers.

them little stars what do they do to the reef. they have been in there from the beginning, and they havent hurt anything yet.

I have found the larger white asterina stars are ok. The smaller grey mottled ones tend to be coral eaters. The white ones seem to eat algae.

ok good.. mine are all white..they have never hurt the corals before

ok just an update..im going to rescape this tank sometimethis weekend..when i get finished with it i will post pics..
