    Veyr nice tank.

I see that you are running pellets. I have been thinking about them for a while. Can you tell if they had any negative influence on your LPS? also have you /are you facing any cyno problems?

I started with vodka and MB7 about two years ago and I had problems with red cyano. Before using vodka never had the problem. Then I stopped vodka and decided to try biopellets. I started very slowly adding the pellets.

As a result of using the pellets now I have no cyano or any kind of algae. Also my glass is clean for a week without cleaning. My nitrates and phosphates are very low. I also use Phosban because the pellets are more effective removing nitrate than phosphate.

My LPS look a lot better than before more extended and better color. My only problem is that my soft corals missed some color but is something that was solved by increasing feeding. Now I can feed more without increasing nitrates and phosphates.

In summary I am very happy with the biopellets.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Thats very good. I started to use a nitrate reactor and with zero nitrate and 0.05 phosphates I am still batling some cyno. Never understood the science of cyno.

    Whats your feeding regimen?

I think that good flow is very important to battle cyano. My present setup has better flow than when I had cyano. Sometimes is more than one thing that helps to avoid cyano.

    This is what I feed:

For the fish, I feed a variety of the following foods twice a day; New Life Spectrum pellets mixed with Seachem Garlic Guard, Frozen Brine shrimp, Roger’s Reef Food, and TLF Green Sea Veggies. For corals, I target feed weekly with the pumps off using 1/4 tsp of Coral Frenzy mixed with water and shredded shrimp for the LPS. I also use Seachem Reef Plus 5ml (aminos, vitamins, etc.), Reef Trace 5ml, TLF Marine Snow 5ml (Phyto,Zooplankton, etc.), and 1 drop of Lugols Solution daily.
