Looks like you're off the a great start. Nice Rics. (Colin never disappoints) When you get ready to do Vortech's I would suggest 2-MP10's as opposed to 1-MP40.(I found out the hard way)

My wife's 75 has two MP 10's and they create tons of wide flow.I would dare say a 40 would never see more then 50% power use in that small a tank

1-MP40 was just too centralized and blew sand around rock work unless turned down too much to justify it. 2-MP10's set @10 on Reef Crest Mode 8" CL up and 5" CL over from each end on same end provide a broad flow and a Tunze Nano Wavebox on the other end keeps things undulating nicely.

Just my 2 cents ; I tried almost everything before this setup and I couldn't be happier with the results.

So, I've add a bit more rock now. I still have diatom bloom...but I went ahead and moved some corals into this tank. I just really could not wait. LOL

Yellow things -- anyone know what these are called?

And there is this... and it is apparently alive!! I thought it was an old shell with some dead coral and feather dusters on it. It opened itself while it was in my hand. I think I may have had an accident.
