    ok, I did another round of water tests.
    Nitrate 20
    nitrite .5
    Alk 260
    ph 8.4
    ammonia .25

    Almost there, but not quite. Now I just have to keep telling myself that a pair of H. Reidi seahorses Will NOT be happy in a 10g tank.... not even if they are juvi's / small. But I want them so bad :'(

    are you using a shrimp to cycle the tank ? if so how long should the shrimp stay in there

    it stays in there untill it's GONE, lol. It will disinegrate (sp?), lol.

    ok I did another water test .....regular tests this time, no dip strips.
    Nitrate 10
    nitrite 0
    ammonia 0
    ph 8.4
    alk 11 dkh
    calcium 450
    phosphates 0

    that's all of the tests I did tonight. If everything stays stable for awhile, I'll be adding goodies soon.
