The large green brittle star? You have 25 that are the same color, or simply tiny brittle starfish of another color?
Yep,one large fish eating green brittle star but the little ones are whitish and are about 1 cm. This is an isolation tank with nothing else in it exept a domino damsel and some sand and rock rubble(sterile).
Odds are they are not from the Green Brittle. The smaller ones are an excellent part of your clean up crew. My tank has many in every crack and crevice, in different colors including all white. They tend to be 1/2" to 2" wide tip to tip.
so where did they come from?
Actually I'm wondering that to.Ido have "rock stars" but these aren't them .they have the very distinctive pentagon shaped body and they are aggressive when I feed the occupants ,they will chase food around the tank, not like the other ones which will just wave their arm around. Also the rock stars have 6 legs always even if a few of them are stunted.these new ones are very symetrical and have 5 legs just like the mama/papa?
What is a rock star? Are you talking about asterinas?
yeah I think so ,they have banded legs.(the rock stars).I'llwait til these new ones get a little bit bigger so I can take descent picture.I'm sure I'ts a differant beasty.
