Brittle stars spawning??

I was just sitting watching the frag tank (I think if I watch it the frags will grow faster) and I noticed that I had a TON of brittle stars out and crawling around. Which is strange, usually the most you see from them is an arm poking out of the rocks. THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!!!!! I kind of went into a panic, I checked the temp the salinity and parameters and they were perfect. So I continued to watch. I had my eye on one particular guy that had crawled to the top of one of my digitata frags. his disc is about the size of your pinky nail. Well all of a sudden he started "smoking" like he was releasing eggs or sperm. I watched him and he did this about 6 times in ten minutes. I noticed a few others doing the same. I tried to look up how they reproduce but found nothing. does anyone have any info on how they reproduce. Here are a couple of pics of him. you cant tell he is releasing but gives you an idea.

That would be my guess. I think I had some fertalised eggs hitchhike into my tank. I have seen about 30-40 of them in my ten gal. I just hope they are not responsible for my yellow polyp's slowly dieing.
