#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#I am new new new, and I found a few things in my tanks that I am curious to what they are. One tank has some sort of what looks like shrimp, but moves as if it were and inch worm, I found them in the filter when i was changing it. are these some sort of parasite?, they are about 1/4" long, and I found prolly 10-15. And the other thing I found was in my other tank. It appears that the live rock has some sort of worms in them, they are red and look kinda like centipedes but craw very slow. Is this a danger also?#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
#ed_op#DIV#ed_cl#ok, thanks to the chat feature, my questions are answered, they are amphipods and bristleworms, nothing harmful, actually benefitial.#ed_op#/DIV#ed_cl#
A word to the wise. Too many bristleworms can be a problem. Few a little ones are great. Alot of little worms can indicate that your over feeding the tank. They can get big. Anything over 1.5" is to big and needs to be removed IMO. I have heard of monsters that 6 feet long in some the giant aquariums. Just keep an eye on them.
