Get out of that hole dude!

I have a red & brown Brittle starfish, it is the nubby kind "reef safe" . It is in a hole right up front and long story shot I want it out of there... I will be re-homing my jawfish there so he has got to get the move on. I grab and pull with no luck... its like it is stuck in there... I know he is not, just stronger and I don't want to pull too hard and hurt it...
SO how do I get it out.

PS each leg is at least 6 inches long... the thing is huge.
