    i'm new here and was wondering if anyone could help me id this anenome. it would be much appreciated... thanks sean

    Not an anemone... it's an large polyp stoney of some sort. Look at the skeleton next to it and how it is colored and then look at the living polyp and it's coloring.
    There's nowhere else I'ld rather be... unless, of course, you're buying

    I wish I could answer your question...

    I agree that it is a LPS of some sort. Something in the back of my mind tells me that I've seen this before, but for now I'm drawing a blank.

    It is a Cup Coral, a common enough hitchhiker on LR. Especially live rock from Tampa Bay Saltwater.

    thank you very much for the quick replies. hey you can barely see it but there's a small aiptasia in the hole next to it, you can kinda make out the mouth, is it going to harm the coral in anyway, my guess is yes. i have a couple that i gotta kill anyway but if i use the limewater method will that affect coral? thanks again

    joe's juice works good for aptasia. also you can use very very hot water in a baster or syringe.
    It's all about the reef. :YEAH:
