i need some good detritus eaters any suggestions?

ok, so i have large detritus buildups in spots where it builds up alot. when you stir it up it clouds the water like crazy. Also beleive me its not the flow the tank is a 29g biocube and i have the stock pump, a small viaqua, and a k2. i have 13 nasarius, but i would really rather not have hermits as they kill snails. thanks,

You might want to try nassarius snails they will bury themselves in the sand and keep it stirred up a little

He's got 13 already in his tank~that's a good question though DC~what about a sand sifting star?

arent those super hard to keep and in a tank like mine wouldnt it starve rather quickly?

Their care is pretty simple~but would get to big for your tank~sorry~what's yer fish stock like~I know there's a goby out there that sifts the sand too.

ive thought abotu that one before but looks like a moldy turd to me(no offence) lol. i really want a fancy gumdrop coral croucher

Once a week I use a turkey baster to blow these areas of stagnate flow so that to suspend the detritus. This way it makes it to my filtration area and so that the skimmer can more readily remove it. I also have a Knano in my sump near my skimmer to keep the crap in suspension so the skimmer can get to it!

I also simulate a 'Hurricane' every 4th or 5th water change. I do this by holding a power head and moving it around the tank blasting the rocks of their holes and the nooks and crannies. I then do a 10-15 gallon water change.
