    Default Light for your refugium

I am curious to know what everyone is using for there refugium light. I currently have a PC floodlight which doesn't seem to working that great. I have a pair of old 10K 55watt PC that could hook up but that seems a light extreme. I am all about cheap but effective.

I think I will give the 24/7 idea a try. Thanks. I still would love to hear more about the light folks use over their fuges.

I'm still running the 19w (75w output?) PC Flood lamps (2900-3200K) 24/7 over my fuges... macro growth is awesome...

My way of figuring is that if macros are growing fast then they are removing maore and more nutrients and phosphates from the system, so let'em grow.

I think the PC flood lamp I have is the same thing, 19W (=75w). Not sure on the K, probably around the 3000k range since it is so yellow . I was considering upgrading to a 47w(=150W) regular PC screw in light but I think go with the 24/7 schedule first. Thanks for the input.

I ran a pair of the ~120w over my 29g tank, started with a few sprigs of assorted calupera's, running a 12 hour photo period and within a month it was a forest of macros so dense you could not see the sides or back of the tank.

Is that fluorescent or incandesent bulb?
