giant flamming scallop has long 2-3" tenicle from inside: what is this?

tank houses:
1 mandarin goby, 1 three stripe damsel, 1 six lined wrasse, 1 giant flamming scallop, 1feather duster
few differant zoos and few other polyps
bright green mushrooms and red/purple mushrooms
thanks for the help
the tentacle on the inside its actually the gills. in a flame scallop the gills arent just used for feeding, its also what it uses to filter micro plankton. make sure you are dosing phytoplankton or other filter feeder food to keep your scallop well fed.
