Wonder what can be done to aleviate the pain/redness/swelling? How did you get the spines out of your finger?
It wasnt too bad. Felt like a TON of tiny splinter when I touched it but as far as pain, there was none. I pulled them all out with tape. About an hour after that my finger swelled a little and turned a little red but nothing too crazy.

At about 10pm it was back to normal.

I have a few in there, some are very fat and short while other that live in the big rock are long and skinny. The one I touched is one of two that I see in my rubble pile that are about 6-8" long and pretty thick.

I've never had it happen either, looks like the bristles that "nettles" leave in your skin, I have had those. I know of one guy with pretty calloused fingers that just grabs 'em up and chucks them in the garbage, personally I don't recommend the practice.

We should set up a bristle worm grabbing contest at a frag meet, the winner could get some frags or some hard goods. I bet you would get a crazy turnout to watch the show. You could have a smoking hot chic and heart throb muscle bound guy dressed like nurses to administer first aid to the contestants. It would be sweet, next year we do mantis shrimp!!
