get a papertowel and soak it in tankwater and then bag them up and box em up. that works AWESOME and the shipping weight is minimal!!!!
This provides the same outcome as when they are placed in water?
I have rebreather bags. And I'm only sending about 12 or so....
While I have ya here :-) I was thinking about sending some Lookie Cookies... they are a filter feeding crab found her in california. Sands crabs. Can they be sent just in some water or would it be best to send them in a little sand. Or would the sand actually be a hinderance?
I guess I should also look at the weather patterns to see if there would be any hot spots enroute.

as for the crabs, I would do just some water I think that would be fine for those little guys and for the snails in the soaked paper towels. it works awesome!!!! are you doing 2 day or overnight??? either way you should be fine. if the weather is cold jus throw some heat packs and that will keep them toasty
The wet paper towel works great... during the spring on one year I ordered 300 or so nassarius snails from a fella off FleaBay, three days shipping for some reason, but way less than 1% loss.
Every electronic device is manufactured with smoke stored deep inside... only a true genius can find a way to set it free.
K, I'll use some paper towel. I'm worried about there being heat somewhere verses cold. These snails are cold water critters.
I dremeled the top coating off of one of these snails.... they are AWESOME mother of pearl underneath....... lemme grab a big I took awhile back.

If anyone else would have said they dremeled off the top of the snails shell, I would be suprised. Why didn't is suprise me when you said it? Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to grind off the top coating of a snail shell? (That's something I would do, lol)
Angie
LOL.... there was a little of the Mother of Pearl peeking through the black shell. You could pick some of the outer shell off with a finger nail. But then I thought how sweet they would be if they were total Mother of Pearl. Unfortunately I don't have a tank to put them in.
