RBTA split

I have got some advice from another forum, just posting in more than one to get as much info as possible.I have a RBTA that looks more like A RLTA 99% of the time. It seems to have split at the mouth over night. I have read the stickey but was hoping I might be able to get some personal input from people who have dealt with this before.Now my concerns are, is there any special care I need to give it. Assuming it is just splitting and not dying how long do they take to heal, and how can you get them off the rock when they are healed as the baby will definately be for sale as I don't need two in a 65g tank as the mother was big enough in the first place. Any and all help would be appreciated.

if you have iodine then dose your tank according to the instructions on it, this will help the tissue heal. my anemones usually take about 1-2 days for a full separation of a split and they are usually healed fully with a new mouth within 2-3 weeks.

if you can remove the rock just take a dremmel and cur around where it is and chip a chunk of the rock out with the anemone so you don't touch the anemone at all. if you cant do this then you can slowly take a credit card and very and i mean VERY slowly use it to peel up the foot on the anemone until it detaches. you want to be sure to go very slow or you will tear its foot and have a chance of it dieing.

once you remove it take a deli dish and poke tons of homes in it and put a small rock in there with the anemone and you can hold it that way for a few days for the sale. some people actually use a magnet cleaner to hold up the deli dish above the water level that way the anemone cant escape from it because they cant go above the water level. i would NOT recommend putting a lid on the deli dish (or tupperware) because it has a chance of harboring expelled waste from your anemone and killing it.

did the iodine, the split looks like its about 95-98% complete.

ok, just give it time, once you see a new mouth forming which will be about a week wait about 1 more week (2 weeks from now) and try to feed it a piece of mysis shrimp and see if it takes it and if it does then he should be healed up pretty good and ready to go. usually takes about 3 weeks from splitting so wait at least 2 weeks before trying to feed it.
