strange little thing

ive had this velvet colored worm thing in my aquarium ever since i got my hermits i just took it out and put it in a plastic cup floating in the aquarium it seems to eat the food i feed my fish it looks like it has a little tube it lives in that is semi transperent and is only about 1 and a half cenimeters long. when i put food in a few little tenticals come out and grab small peices of food ive been wondering what it is, it came on an empty hermit crab shell i would post some pictures but i cant figure out how. thanks

sounds like it may be a spagetti worm. they are good to have. but without a pic i cant give a 100% id on it.
