Default Your thoughts on keeping a sea apple.

A buddy of mine offered me a yellow sea apple for my 100 rubbermaid fuge/lookdown and want to get some more info before I agree to take it. He is feeding it rods foods with a tukey baster and it is eating well. The other inhabitants it will be with are 2 serpent stars, spawning pair of clowns, pencil urchin, shortspine urchin, large sally lightfoot. My biggest concern is the toxcicity. I have head that it is not as big of an issue as it once was due to the equipment now a days. Will a skimmer really pull these toxins out? I am running an ASM g4xx on a 250g system. I also use about 2 cups of cabon changed monthly.

I personally wouldn't risk it, but I have quite a bit more into my livestock I'm guessing. The biggest thing really is there is going to be somewhat of a risk no matter what skimmer your running I am sure... you have to ask yourself though is that risk worth it?

I keep angels that most would never put in a reef.... but its worth it to me

This is plumbed to my stuffed full 125g display so there is a couple $1000 of livestock at risk. Was hoping to get some first hand accounts of just how toxic these can be, and if the toxins are managable. What type of corals fish and inverts are more succeptable to being poisionedd? I could handle some loss but it could wipe out 1/4 of the tank or more it wouldnt be worth it.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, sounded like you didn't have much in that system (thought it was just what you had listed).... Knowing that there is more then a couple hundred bucks at stake, IMO not worth it.
