Nausithoe are a polyp form of jellyfish that look kinda like hydroids (see links below). While not as invasive as some hydroids they have been in my tank for well over a decade. Initially they were sparse and did not seem to harm anything. Now they have gotten out of control and are causing coral irritation as well as being an eyesore. I've thought about kalk paste but the sheer number of them is overwhelming. Has anyone used an Aptasia Zapper on Nausithoe? If no one has actually tried zapping them do you think it would work?
Tom I too am looking into the Zapper. I'm being plagued with Digitate Hydroids. Part of what's killing my zoas. Again today ill be tagging along with one of your threads
By the way Tom. Thanks for those links. Especially the one from RC. Was nice to read about others dealing with these nasty lil buggers I'm dealing with. I now have some hope of getting rid of them. I thought they were embedded in the rock! But they're not which means I can at least remove them with tweezers and gloves
I am going to end up calk pasting the rock eventually.
Thanks. That's what I needed to know, but exactly the opposite answer I wanted to get. I guess I'll be kalk-ing rock (boy that sounds dirty) for a long time. These things are everywhere in my tank. What's the best kalk recipe?
