    Default question

hello everyone. new to site found out from the aa swap. been on mi reefers for about 2 yrs or so. really like this P I F thread. was wondering if it is for all frags or just zoos. i have a small galaxy frag ive started as well as torch that i frag about every 3 months. ive been giving them to friends. but would like to give to others also. so i guess my question is how big would other corals need to be to pass along. i saw the rule about 7 polyps but how do you apply that to stonys you dont want to get that big.

Hello Joe, you can PIF any sort of coral you would like at any size you would like. The only concerns should be survivability and growth. The slower growers would be passed along at smaller sizes it seems to me but at a size that you are comfortable with its odds of surviving. Fragged and passed at twice the size(or thereabouts) of the original PIF one receives. It's really up to the PIF starter to set the guidelines for the PIF.
