Those are breath-taking photos! I have a couple of questions about your use of the photo box. How high off the floor is the surface of your tank? How high above the surface are your lights suspended?

you take the best pics i'v ever seen!!!!!!!
From the side, it looks a bit more white (esp. the tips of the polyps). From above, you have some of the blue popping out due to my 10,000K ReefLux bulbs, the VHOs actinics, and a 20,000K Radium bulb. It is definitely more vivid from the top. Here is a full tank shot from today, so you can see how it looks from eye level.

I may not be answering your questions properly, so if I get it wrong just ask again. The tank is 30" tall. I have a 4" DSB and the water is about 1" beneath the euro-bracing.
The MH lights are 9" off the water and the VHOs are 4" off the water. I'm able to roll the light rack back and forth to get better access when working in the tank. Here's my lighting setup.

Beautiful tank!!! I really love the mix of corals. The Reeflux bulbs are nice. The set I had kind kind of had a pinkish hues to them. The 20K probably really makes a nice blend of color.
Thanks Marc... your response does help. I would love to utilize a photo box, and that is why I asked the questions that I did. With my current setup, I would need to actually completely remove my lighting and get on a ladder to take photos that way. I definitley know why and how and photo box could produce such striking images, and your information helps me to realize that it isn't possible for me at this time. It certainly gives me some ideas for the future... ;)
Thanks again!!! :)
I should add that I am only 5'3", hence the need for a ladder, lol! ;)
those pictures are BEAUTIFUL! so much color and so clear! wow! :)
love the pic melev
