definitely going to be better if you buy the rebel but either way I would stay with cannon power-shot if you want the point and shoot I never realy cared for Nikon point in shoot cameras although they do make top end dslr
I personally find the canon menu systems easier to navigate for settings also IMO they take clearer pics

reef tanks are like wifes you have to give them some attention every now and then
I've had the powershot for 2yrs, while it was working it took great pics/video. I love the *aquarium* setting with macro option. I also like the 8mp.
But alas it was not to last. Just last month it went funky on me and no longer works. Ill have to send it in to Canon as the repair man here says it's something to do with the power. This could stem from something I did or not. It is a nice camera
