When it comes to pictures in general i have little knowledge and patience. On a lot of forums my photos get thumb nail sized. How do I re size pictures so they do not do this. I do not have any photo software on my computer. I also hate photo bucket. Any advice.
This is the program I use. It's free and pretty awesome!! I resize all my photos to 1600x1200, this way I know for sure they'll fit any forum. Check it out, I'm sure you'll like it. It's free!!!
You need a place to upload your photos (most people do use photobucket, but there are other alternatives). You want to keep the size of the pictures you upload to less than 640x480 or less so they load fast and look the best when you post them. Most cameras will take pics a lot larger so you should use a editing program to resize them. Usually you will want to do some white balance of reef photos in the editing program anyway.
Then once you have them on your chosen hosting site, you will see a url for the image displayed next to the photo or you can right click and find the url by clicking properties.
Then use the image tags to paste your photo url so that it will display on the site here.
Here is an example:

An editing program you might want to check out is Gimp.
