My recommendation on phyto, is don't bother dumping that stuff in your tank. For what you have in your tank it's pretty much just an extra, not needed, nutrient source. Which will then have to be removed via water changes or skimming. Dont do it, Miz! Just say NO to phyto, is my take. I'm sure there are those who would disagree, but I see no need for most tanks to use phtyo.
If you decide to Chuck aka pappabear grows and harvests his own. Im sure he will gladly help you out.
He hasn't been on since June...not sure how long it would take him to get my request

There are several things in my tank that require phyto...i.e. Flame scallop...copodes. Dosing small amounts bi-weekly should not cause any issues.
Well I'll call him and have him get on Jamie!
You could always forget to clean your glass for a couple days, then when you do.....you just made your own phyto for the tanks weekly dose!
You can actually buy a small bottle of DT's and culture your own plankton from that using 2liter bottles, airstones and florescent lights with some food for the culture to keep it thriving. But there is a website that offers a small, medium and large harvesting kit....i just forgot where that was :( .
