honestly couldn't say as I only have enough to do the aqua-scape I want
Think I have a little more than 1lb/gallon.
Have about 1 lb per gal/going up to 2 soon:smash:
bouth my tanks are 1lb per gallon
I would guess 1.5 ppg. Mainly in the sump.
oh and I would say im in the higher 2 like 2.7 pounds its pretty full of rock, kinda annoying .
Got more rocks than a crack dealer lol. Actually, have a lot of rock b/c it came with the numorous tanks I got and then I scored a ton of rock from someone.
I bought 35 pounds to put in my 34g tank. But, technically the "display area" of the tank is only 29g, I am told. Still, I didn't have room for all the rocks I got, so about three pounds of rock just sat bleaching in the garden all summer. Now that they are bright white, and free of bugs (I bleached them a couple months back), I am going to try to make some frag racks with them. Maybe I will even take a picture or two of the process.
I like less rock for sure. I think less is certainly more in a display tank. You have to do things to provide hiding places but if you plan it out you can accomplish this with a lot less rock than conventional thinking tells us. The more open you can make it the better for flow, cleaning, ect.
