Looking for reviews. Have an opportunity via a $200.00 credit to get one. Possibly with a Float Switch Kit and or Temp prob, the two I choose. I'm not interested in the PH prob nor the salinity prob and don't even know what an ORP prob is-lol.
Will it be able to control my MP10es and WP10? Actually I don't really know exactly what I would use it for. Waste of credit? Please LMK, thank you.
I think the vortech pumps need to be "w" models to be controlled with anything other than the stock controller. I'm not that up on reef keepers, but my guess is the lite wouldn't have the functionality built in to control "w" pumps. I have an apex and had to purchase a separate module to control them.
Controllers can be nice to eliminate a bunch of timers. They also would have some logic to deal with various tank events. For example if you tank is more than 83 turn off the lights or sound an alarm.
I think the keeper lite will only turn them on and off. You have to buy upgrades to get it to do more then on and off functions. Personally if your lights have a controller, and the heater is controlled. Use the credit for something else. I ran an Apex for years. The best day of owning one was when I got rid of it. It worked great but being someone who's tired of updates and firm ware down loads it was nice to get back to simple operations and not having to train someone how to use it every time we wanted to leave town! There is something to be said about simplicity!
The RKL (without additional modules) is not much more than a glorified timer and temperature controller. If you want a controller don't waste your $ on a RKL.
Also comparing a RKL to an APEX is really not appropriate... It's like comparing a starfire tank to a rubbermaid tub. A highly (and properly) functioning controller can do tons of awesome things.
