After many trips of bringing my water to be tested for phosphates to a friends house I decided to breakdown and buy the Hanna Phosphate Checker 713.
I did some research before purchasing and I was still skeptical about the results that this checker would put out.
This is the video that was made by Hanna Inc that I watched to learn how to operate it .
The results were as accurate as the larger photometer made by Hanna . For the price I believe this phosphate checker should be in every reefers arsenal .
Drawbacks : after waiting the three minutes for test to complete , you only have ten seconds to read the result before it automatically shuts off. Once it shuts off the memory is lost and then you have to repeat all the steps if you did not see the reading. This is to preserve battery life of the tripleA battery it uses.
Overall for the price of this unit it is a Bella127 best buy . Here are some cheap iPhone pics
Pete, I agree with your thoughts. The only drawback I found what that its hard to open the cover of the unit. And when you exert more force the white thing also pops out. But again bang for the buck.
I believe i read that it is close to the larger unit in + or - accuracy. Still its a better price from the bigger ones, I bought my big one 3 years ago and it was the best investment then so knock a hundred off and a titch of accuracy and its a very good deal.
